A new season is in full swing here...the leaves are changing and all the Halloween decor is out. Along with the change of season comes a few changes in our lives. Be prepared...for some of you, this news is all new and for others, not so much!
First of all, we are excited to announce that we are expecting baby #3 this May! This baby and Aubrey will be 23 months apart so almost 2 years which is what we were hoping. Although, this little one was a bit of a surprise and a little souvenir from our trip to NYC this summer it was perfect timing for us! Evidently, every time we go on a trip with Tom and Terra (john's brother and his wife) we come back pregnant. The first time was with Connor in Hawaii and now NYC...so the joke is, anytime we are thinking of having a baby..plan a trip with Tom and Terra!
In other news....because of our growing family, we were forced to think very hard about our currently living situation. For those of you who do not realize that we currently rent an 800 square foot home in Palo Alto...2 bedroom and 1 bath. Yes, there are 4 of us plus 2 cats in this tiny space. Thanks to baby #3 and some talking about John's future plans, we decided to purchase a home down here. We finally signed the official offer letter last Sunday and close on the house November 10th. We weren't able to stay in Palo Alto since houses here are crazy expensive, so we opted for Mountain View, the next town over. We basically bought our house right on the city lines. We are about 8 minutes away from our current place and we couldn't be happier. I was a bit worried we would have to move up to 45 minutes away which means all the preschool and extra curricular activities that the kids and I do would be harder to get to. We are so excited to finally move into our new home and to still be close to all our friends out there.
For those of you who are wondering...hmmm what about our return to Seattle?? Well, we are still planning on coming back, we have just delayed things by about 5 years. John decided he does want to go up for Partner in a few years and based on what we have seen from other associates who have moved away to work remotely, it is a bit of a career buster. We decided it is better to keep all our options open and wait until we see if John becomes Partner. Once that happens, we can start planning to head up to Seattle and we will be in a much better position to do so. Thankfully, we have Sandy Point which will still keep us coming up 2 months out of the year and makes staying down here for a few more years easier to handle. Don't worry we will make it to Seattle...5 years isn't that long!
I think that is it with all the bombshell information I have dropped on all of you! Here are some pictures of the kids at the pumpkin patch that we took today. They had fun, but were pretty tired afterwards!
