John going to the Boys and Girl's Club Golden Gala for work
Another busy weekend for the Clendenins. With Halloween sneaking up on us on Friday, we decided we better get to the pumpkin patch. This would be Connor's second year getting pumpkins and I am sure every year he is going to get more and more crazy and excited while we are there. First of all, Connor was more interested in all the pulleys, carts and wagons than the actual pumpkins. Anything with wheels is what he is into these days. Second of all, he wouldn't sit still not even for photos. The ones we did get of him, I had to hold him down or it is a shot of his behind as be makes a b-line for more wagons! He was having the time of his life...as you can see, he had dirt and mud from one end of him to the other. Aubrey, was just along for the ride so we aren't sure what she thought of the whole situation. She just loves watching her big brother these days.
The picture of my handsome husband in his tuxedo is a work function he was asked to attend. It was black tie and very fancy! The firm bought a table for 10,000! All the money of course went to the Boys and Girls club. He said he had a fantastic time, the emcee for the night was David B Vance (Angela basset's husband) he is also an actor on Law and Order. John went up and actually introduced himself to him...which is so out of character for him! Usually, he would watch a celebrity from afar. John said he was super nice and a very eloquent speaker. The entrainment of the night was Melinda Doolittle from American Idol fame. I think John enjoyed seeing some famous people. The night was capped off with a huge firework display in the sky above their glass domed ceiling. It was a pretty fun night for him...aside form the valet losing the car keys for 45 minutes!
My Saturday night was a cup of tea and a girly movie....I watched Made Of Honor with Patrick Dempsey...pretty cute movie and definitely more up my ally than John's!
On the kids front, Aubrey and Connor have started to interact with each other a little bit. She will be laying on her tummy and Connor will come down to her eye level and say "baby" she stared at him right in his eyes and smiles so big. Then Connor sees her smile and stats to giggle too. It is the first sign of real interaction between the too and it is so cool to see. Aubrey slept 10 hours in a row a few nights ago and then went back to her old ways of waking up for 2 hours in the middle of the night before falling back asleep. I am REALLY hoping she starts to do more of the longer stretches soon.
Connor is coming out with new words every day and it just shocks me. It just shows that for the longest time he sat back and just took everything in and now he is just blurting it all out.
Well, that is it from here!
